Our Mission
Our mission is two-fold: to provide youth in Junior Drag Racing with high-quality, stylish apparel featuring clean designs with a modern aesthetic, and to be a driving force in the growth of the Junior Drag racing community. We are committed to achieving this through sponsorships, supporting events, and establishing clear pathways for young enthusiasts to enter and succeed in the sport.
The Beginning.
Hi, I’m Kaylee, founder of Slick Kids and lifelong racer. I’ve been actively drag racing since 2008, starting out in that yellow junior dragster you see in the photo, my very first car. Racing runs deep in my family. We’ve been at the track for as long as I can remember.
Heart of a Racer.
I raced juniors until I aged out at 18, upgrading from my original yellow dragster to a brand-new Halfscale along the way. I spent those years traveling up and down the East Coast, chasing wins, collecting Wallys and Iron Trees, and building friendships that felt more like family. Racing was always a family affair for us. My older brother got me into it, and eventually my younger sister joined too. Let’s just say the sibling rivalry ran deep, especially when it came to who was 'better'.
Aging Out.
The 2017 Eastern Conference Finals marked the end of an era for me. I still remember the tears after my final pass—grateful, emotional, and not quite ready to let go. I was excited to move into big cars, but nothing compares to the energy of the junior racing community. Still, my journey didn’t stop there. The next chapter began behind the wheel of a full-scale dragster.
Starting a Family.
After juniors, I made the move into a full-size dragster, but the road wasn’t without a few pauses. I raced for a couple of years before stepping away to have my first daughter, Grace. Once she was old enough, I got back in the seat for another season, then took a second break to welcome my next daughter, Eloise. Now, they’re true track kids, growing up in the pits and already asking when they can race their first race. Slick Kids is inspired by my own junior racing journey, but it’s fueled by my daughters and the future they have waiting for them on the track.
Creating a Movement
Slick Kids was born from a love for junior drag racing and a vision for its future. We create clean, modern apparel for young racers and support the sport through sponsorships and programs that help the next generation hit the track.
